15A – Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 2
From my
interviews, I found that when picking from alternatives, customers in this
segment tend to value price as the most important. Food is a large expense out
of every paycheck, so cooking or eating cheap are the best options, especially
for those that are just starting their full-time jobs and so probably aren’t
being paid a lot. Convenience is another factor they considered the most when
picking what and where to eat. With their busy schedules, they want something
quick and easy to eat. When formulating my service, I need to take price and
convenience into consideration the most.
I found
that they buy their food either at the grocery store or at healthy food
restaurants. This shows that they are health conscious as well as price
conscious. These are the two factors that they also reflect back on
post-purchase. If they ate unhealthy foods, they will regret it. However, if
they spent too much money on meals, they will also regret that. If they ate
healthy meals that were within their price range, they will reflect positively
on their purchase decision.
Based on
these interviews, this segment of consumers look for food options that are both
price and health conscious. They want something healthy that won’t be too
outrageously expensive. These are the two most important things I need to take
into consideration when formulating my product.
Maybe to help your company save on costs, you can partner with local small time growers and get fresh produce from them for a better price in bulk for your chefs to use. That would help you appeal to your health conscious theme too.
ReplyDeleteHey Hope. I completely agree that price is probably the most important factor, especially when it comes to food. I know from personal experience that people tend to look at the price tag on food before anything else. Of course, health is also very important, but it could be difficult to find a compromise between health and price. However, it could definitely be very successful if done right. Great job.
ReplyDeleteHey Hope, I think cost effectiveness is a really important point in any business, especially involving food. The best of both worlds would ideally be healthy and frugal. Although, as it was mentioned before, it can be difficult not to sacrifice healthy and effectiveness for affordability. Great job, I think your service could really evolve the food convenience industry.
